Wellness has organized this April 20th an exhibition of photos of four generations of artists from Chambi family, who have an unparalleled talent portraying scenes from everyday rural life.
The first generation of this family is represented with the artwork of Martin Chambi Jimenez, one of the greatest of photographers in the continent. Recognized for his pictures of deep social, historical and ethnic testimony, he has portrayed the agrarian and urban society in the Andes. His work has been exhibited in museums all around the world, and it is a proof of his extremely acute human sensitivity and an absolute mastery of his art.
The work of the second generation belongs to his daughter, Julia, with whom he had an artistic affinity. Her favorite subjects were the colonial houses, archaeological sites, landscapes, social customs and Andean types, considering also the search for the best view and most appropriate light.The third generation is represented by Teo Allain Chambi, grandson of the photographer, who will present his experience in the photographic art.The fourth generation is represented by Andres Fernando Allain, renowned art, advertising and entertainment photographer.
